After a considerable gap, Saloni is playing the title role in ‘Telugammayi’ directed by Raja Vannemreddy and produced by Vanapalli Babu Rao on the banner of Vaishnavi Movies. Though she received many offers after the success of ‘Maryada Ramanna’, Saloni decided to plan her career carefully and became very choosy in selecting films.

In ‘Telugammayi’, she is playing the lead role, while there are four heroes including Vikram, Yashwant, Saichand, and Harsha. Recently a song was choreographed on the heroine and heroes besides MS Narayana, Venumadhav, Geeta Singh, Jeeva, Jhansi and Kondavalasa Lakshman Rao, which goes like ‘Pairagali Vachi Nannu Paata Paadamandi…’ in a four-day long shoot under the dance direction of Pradeep Anthony.

The film is said to have comedy and emotional scenes in equal ratio. Saloni is playing a character which had many shades. The movement of the story would have different twists and unpredictable to viewers. Producer says, ‘Saloni’s character would remain a highlight in the film. As the title suggested, the film would have a pure and natural Telugu scent.

The present schedule would conclude on November 28 and by that time some 50 per cent of the film would be complete. We are planning our next schedule in Palakole from December 15. Cinematography is by Vasu.
